Ahmad A. Amir, MD

“One of the things I enjoy most about being an ophthalmologist is the long-term relationships I've developed with my patients. Improving vision makes such an immediate and profound difference in the quality of a person's life.”

Dr. Amir is a founding member and managing partner of Pacific Eye Surgeons.   He has been an active Central Coast resident since 1999. He enjoys building long-term relationships with his patients and helping them improve their quality of life through better vision.

Dr Amir’s interests include refractive cataract surgery, LASIK, and glaucoma treatment.   He has been the principle investigator for two national research studies.  He also has volunteered his time as a Health Services Cluster member for the SLO County EVC, board member and past president of the SLO County Medical Association, and delegate to the California Medical Association.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Amir’s interests include cooking, hiking, cinema and spending time with his children.  He is currently the president of the SLO International Film Festival.
